C02 cost

Post by Oilguy »

Just curious I live in Cold Lake Alberta and the local safety supply place wants to fill for 80.00 for 10lb and 70.00 for 5lb,
How does this price compare to other places.

I pay $60.00 for 20 lbs. in Peterborough. Everytime I go the price is higher. A year ago it was $53.00. I have started to bottle condition some beers to save money.

Back in august I ordered a 10lb CO2 tank. The used tank/fill/testing cost me about $125. Then it was $100 to get somebody to drive it to the airport for me, then it was $200 for air cargo fees (down from $1000 because I work for the airline).

So almost 4 months and $325 later...I still don't have it. I might be able to drink my thanksgiving (october) beer in time for valentines!
I've never understood the policy against "necro threads" on almost every forum. Why tell us to use the search function for a particular topic, then complain when an older thread has a new post in it?

I rent my 5lb tank, cost me about 140$ up front for a full tank then it's 38$ to exchange for a new one when empty

I'm going to the recharge center as well (albeit here in Calgary). No need to go to specialized gas suppliers if you can get the CO2 from the firefighters! :)
