Cascade sprouting inside, snow is slowly melting only a few inches left

I just finished picking 5 lb 6 oz of Hallertau cones from my first year rhizomes. I'll dry them tonight and bag tomorrow. Thank you ruf1. :D

How big (long) are the cones you harvested? I think mine (also a Hallertau) need another week or so (still extremely green and don't smell at all, some lupin I can see in the first few bracets but not in all). Trying to time my harvest...

Doc, some are 1 3/4 in long and others are only 3/4 in, they varied a lot. I kept trying to break them as I went up the bine and got a consistent snap when I bent them every time, so I picked them all. I put my bines on pulleys so I don't have to cut them to harvest or climb a ladder.

Not how easy to break them off the plant but how easy to break the cone when I bent it between my fingers.
