We have family up on Buckhorn Lake. Very nice area but the waterfront is kind of weedy but the scenery is incredible.

So I found this Kelcey's place. It's one of those hippy health-food/nutrition stores, not an actual brew shop. However, they do carry a small selection of homebrew kits (Coopers and some other imported brand) as well as some dried malt extracts and things. I definitely bought up their entire stock (4x 500g bags) of Munton's dark DME, since that's something I hadn't seen at the Brew Kettle.

Is he the guy I was talking to at Kelcey's? He was quite helpful showing me their selection, and did mention something about ordering stuff. Seems like a real nice guy.

Yup, that's him. I have been getting stuff from him for years. I think he makes wine in the store basement. He sells lots of kits, but he said there isn't a big demand for all-grain ingredients. I have bought a full sack of grains from him one time. Don't remember the price though.

Great little shop, I'm sure I'll be back again. However, the Brew Kettle is still going to be my "go-to" spot for most ingredients. Last time I was in, I was told that there's a group of guys who are placing bulk orders through them. Apparently, I need to make some friends in the local brewing circle.

Not sure. They will soon sell Festa Brew beer kits. These are 23 litres of wort that you just pour in your pail, add yeast and that is it. They are the best kits around.

No, but I'm pretty sure they're the same as the Cooper's kits.

was in the brewkettle the other day to have a look around, saw a few coopers kits. asked about the mr beer products and the owner and went to the mr beer site for a looksee. he imediatly got on the phone with mr beer looking for our regional sales rep. told me that he is definetly gonna have a good look at it and is probably gonna carry their line, yeah :D so my first trip to a home brewing store went real well. got a great overall feeling
