Wondering if the plastic stuff on the top is just a protector or something,, i would like to buy it for making a boil kettle for my new ag set up,,, i talked to the guy on the phone he didnt seem to know if the keg is completely stainless ( i think so). I use one of these for my MLT...

If you're using steam that's the best thing you'll ever have... Yes, they're stainless steel inside but not suitable for direct fired mash tuns...

That said, I love mine...

Cheers!

Steam injection... I use propane to heat up a pressure cooker and have a dispersion nozzle inside the mash tun.

I bet this would work well with electric elements, too, but I would worry about scorching the grains...

I use these for my 3 vessel setup. The bottom is glued on with a contact cement or similar. It easily was pried off and I used it for direct during before going to electric. The top was removed with more difficulty but it came off.

At.the time they were the only reasonably priced kegs available so I used them. Haven't let me down yet!
Mmmm... Beer... *drool*
