Critical Database Failure

Hi everybody,

This morning, the server experienced a critical error. The database (the data) became corrupted. Several attempts at recovering the data were made, but these were unsuccessful.

The good news: The database is automatically backed up regularly, and I was able to restore to the last known-good version. So, the forum is back up and running without issue.

The bad news: Forum posts, user registrations, etc between now and the time of backup are lost. Thankfully, these are few. Most people won't even notice, but some of you might notice some of your most recent things missing.

Going forward: This is the first time in nearly 8 years this has occurred. To prevent this from happening again in the future, I've increased the frequency of database backups.

While I was at it, I've upgraded the forum software, and the style.

Thanks warthaug.... All the new phpbb styles are required to be "responsive" so it'll be much easier for mobile users to use.

And about half of visitors are mobile now (or tablet)
